Handyman, General Repair

Join our crew for commercial general repair work across Long Island.
AK General Contracting Corp is hiring a handyman focused on general repair for commercial properties, with select residential projects as needed.
You will handle drywall, finishes, openings, punch lists, and multi-area repair scopes under crew leadership. Work is crew-sized, not tiny one-off visits.
Ideal candidates have reliable transportation, solid tool knowledge, and experience on commercial or multi-tenant job sites.
Responsibilities
- Perform general repair work including drywall, patching, finishes, and basic carpentry support
- Follow site access rules, safety practices, and property-manager schedules
- Assist with tenant improvements, suite punch-outs, and property damage repairs
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and keep work areas clean and professional
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in general repair or construction
- Ability to lift, climb, and work a full day on active job sites
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Willingness to work occasional early mornings or after-hours for commercial access windows
